Pork Belly with Apple Sauce

Tender and crispy pork belly paired with a sweet and tangy homemade apple sauce makes for an unforgettable meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1kg pork belly

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 apple, peeled and diced

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Rub pork belly with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place on a roasting tray.

  3. Roast for 2 hours, until crispy and tender.

  4. For the sauce: In a saucepan, combine apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vinegar. Cook over medium heat until apples soften.

  5. Serve pork belly with apple sauce.
